This team's major objective is to educate and enroll businesses, working with external Brokers in the HealthSource RI exchange by conducting training meetings and seminars, and assisting small business owners in navigating the system so that they can effectively utilize HSRI to offer health coverage to their employees.
The Business Engagement Specialists will seek to improve awareness of the HSRI program within the business and external broker community. They will seek to obtain business intelligence as well as referral business by building and enhancing relationships within the business community. The team will be accountable for continuous prospecting for new HSRI broker/ small business accounts. They will also be responsible for account retention and account growth by educating the business community about the features and benefits of HSRI and by providing superior service.
The Business Engagement Specialist (outside) will receive a lead and an appointment from the inside support team. The Business Engagement Specialists will populate existing meeting/training material templates with customer specific details, meet to educate the employer, assist the company in HSRI account set up, and work with employees on enrollment and service activities.
The Business Engagement Specialists will work independently to meet with the business community; they will conduct educational meetings, provide set up support to companies, and provide direction on all service activities.
The Business Engagement Specialist responsibilities will not involve steering of consumers to specific plans, products, or services. The Business Engagement Specialist responsibilities will not involve the sale, solicitation, or negotiation of any insurance.
The Specialists will have defined performance goals and will be eligible to receive Pay For Performance compensation as a bonus for achieving these goals. The performance goals will be centered on the number of new accounts the Specialist registers in the HealthSource RI exchange each month. The performance goals will not be impacted by plan selection by either the employer or employees.
Position Activities
Prospect for potential new business accounts
Act on leads by meeting/training companies for the purpose of registering new accounts, working with the external broker, as necessary
Use existing training/meeting materials and populate with customer specific data to be used at educational meetings
Conduct onsite meetings
Educate employers about the features and benefits of the HSRI exchange
Educate employees about potential tax credit eligibility
Using information obtained from an employer, assist employer with completion of group applications, obtain group census, tax and wage, and develop rates
Train the small business on the billing process
Responsible for ongoing account management including group renewal
Field / assist with enrollment and billing issues as well as direct accounts/employees to the inside Specialist for assistance with service issues.
Assist small businesses and brokers with enrollment activities/guidelines such as adds, terminations, qualified events, etc.
Analyze their individual account activity against their objective and develop a plan to manage any gaps
Develop a pipeline of potential new accounts
Retain and service the new account, including all activities related to the renewal process
Ensure all new account and retention goals are achieved
Track all customer interactions through bConnected CRM
Position Requirements
Must possess high level business professional skills, polish, with the ability to engage businesses / employer groups, and educate companies on the benefits of utilizing HSRI, as well as continuing with HSRI at renewal
Superior communication skills required, both written and verbal
Excellent presentation skills required
Individual performance, must be a highly motivated self- starter
Ability to relate to an employer's objectives and develop a plan to register the company with HSRI.
Must be able to develop and strengthen relationships with the broker (if applicable), business owner, as well as the company employees
Ability to educate the business community and increase their participation in HSRI is a priority focus.
Ability to ensure that all enrollment training programs are positive experiences for the business community learners, increase knowledge and/or capability, change and improve behaviors and applicable attitudes and improve overall business performance functionally and financially
Ability to earn the trust of the external broker and business community
Must be able to lead meetings and all enrollment activities with participants from the business and external broker community
Must be an excellent problem solver
Must be expertly proficient in use MS Office (especially Excel), and be able to learn bConnected
Reasoning skills to ensure appropriate creation and documentation of account activity
Ability to provide the business owner with leadership skills to enhance his health and dental benefit program
Manage multiple activities with many accounts simultaneously
Must be able to work effectively in teams as well as independently, with little supervision
Ability to work within set timeframes and deadlines
Must be adaptable to dynamic environments and project variables
Must have a high energy level and a positive, can do attitude
Must have positive attitude and adapt well to change
Experience and Education
Experience in the health care or insurance field required
College degree preferred, High School diploma required
Health Insurance Broker or Carrier experience preferred
Previous outside B2B and B2C education experience preferred, including demonstrated ability to meet assigned goals
Valid driver's license required

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
