Summary:
Responsible for the development and sales management for the construction & installation support of offshore and onshore wind in the US and globally.
Reporting directly to the VP of Business Development, you will represent the services of Crowley, seeking to build the book of business offerings throughout the Offshore Wind Industry.
GENERAL
Responsibilities:
As the Director, Business Development, you will:
Serve as an expert on the company's construction & installation offshore wind product and services portfolio.
Direct the research, collection, and analysis of construction & installation offshore wind data regarding new and existing market segments, customers, and trends.
Establish relationships with potential construction & installation offshore wind clients and connect those clients with appropriate sales personnel.
Participates in the preparation of offshore wind bids, contract proposals and/or requests for proposals and is responsible for providing the final pricing for the RFP.
Provide insight in various markets to develop strategies and recommendations for- the construction & installation market for offshore and onshore wind.
Responsible for the research and analysis of new offshore wind business opportunities in the construction & installation sector, consistent with organization's long range and strategic plans for offshore wind.
Evaluate opportunities for possible joint ventures in the construction & installation business through financial feasibility studies and market research supporting offshore wind.
Utilize market share, growth potential, information on competition and economic conditions in the development of new business opportunities for construction & installation for offshore and onshore wind in the US and globally.
Conduct special studies for top management in areas such as operational effectiveness, capacity utilization and growth potential for construction & installation for offshore wind and onshore wind in the US and globally.
QualificationsEDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in business, transportation, marketing or related field; or a combination of post high school and equal experience may be substituted for education.
Experience:
8 to 10 years of logistics, sales and/or marketing experience in a leadership capacity with an emphasis on cabling and aggregate, offshore wind industry experience a plus.
TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY:
Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
COMPETENCIES:

Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
Ability to perform accurately in a detail-oriented environment.

Knowledge of contract negotiation and administration as well as the ability to execute contracts in compliance with corporate guidelines.
Knowledge of data analysis techniques and methodology.
Knowledge of marketing research techniques and tools.
Knowledge of pricing and modeling for the development of RFPs and business cases.
