Technical Leader Substation (Remote)

Description GAI Consultants is seeking a Substation Engineering Technical Leader.
This position will be involved with substation engineering and physical design, overall project management, client interaction/development, proposal preparation, technical guidance/training/mentoring of staff, design reviews, scheduling, staffing, invoicing, budget control, QA/QC enforcement and business development related to all aspects of electrical substation and protections & controls design services.
The successful candidate will work on various substation and/or protection and control engineering projects including detailed design for high voltage substation projects through 500kV.

Duties:
Manage, design and perform QA/QC checks related to technical activities including, but not limited to, the following:
Development of and/or revisions to existing drawings for one lines, physical arrangement, grounding, conduit and wire schedules, bill of materials, and site development, battery sizing and equipment layout including coordinating with CAD operators to develop organized, quality CAD drawings.
Integrate physical layout and design of substations to interface with protection and control drawings.
Development of control and relay panel layouts including assembling the specifications.
Creation of project criteria.
Development of design specifications including the overall bill of materials.
Design and sizing of auxiliary systems including AC/DC load centers as well as batteries and chargers.
Design and sizing of conduit, cable and backup generators.
Ordering long-lead item materialsMentoring and managing staff at all levels.
Travelling to other offices and to meet with clients and attend project specific meetings on a regular basis.
Managing tasks on multiple projects in accordance with GAI's high standards of project management.
Managing and assisting with the development of scope of services and cost estimates for Substation and P&C projects.
Managing and assisting with the development and presentation of qualifications.
Preparing and executing an annual business plan and participating in an annual strategic business planning session.
Requirements:
Bachelors (B.
S.
) degree from an accredited college in Engineering.
10 years of Substation Physical and/or Protection & Controls engineering design experience in projects ranging up to 500kVExperience with grounding software (preferred)Current Professional Engineer (PE) Certification required.
Excellent communication and writing skills and strong organizational skills.
Proficient in MS Office.
Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and/or Microstation.
Must be detail oriented and maintain professionalism at all times.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
