Overview The Manager, Business Intelligence will manage a team of data analyst.
The person will need to understand all aspects of Automotive through the data and internal processes to provide insight that will increase efficiencies, reduce costs and evolve existing procedures.
The individual will work with other lines of business to gain insight and best practices.
Incumbent is expected to develop a functional understanding of the current applications and reporting landscape, provide thought leadership and stakeholder engagement as we develop approaches to common reporting needs.
The manager provides actionable insights into various aspects of the business and serve as a strategic data leader within Automotive.
A critical component to this role will be to extract the big picture through data modeling and analysis to help streamline decision-making, strategy creation, and tactical execution.
Responsibilities This position requires the manager to lead, manage and support the data analyst team in the development of Automotive data analytics including statistical models, dashboards, and financial data mining.
Support the building of new analytical capabilities and solutions that enable analytics to support the strategic goals of the Automotive department.
Perform rigorous model evaluation, design hypothesis tests, oversee test execution and result evaluation.
Model, predict, and classify Automotive business metrics.
Perform advanced analytics appropriate to the Automotive business including modeling, forecasting, predictive analytics that deliver recommendations for cost reduction, dashboards, KPI performance and optimization of operational performance.
Perform and manage all the steps required for analyses including requirements gathering, methodology development, data pulling, data processing, analysis, insight formulation and results delivery.
Generate reports, documentation and scoring as part of the analysis process.
Identify meaningful trends or patterns that impact strategic decisions and regularly share results with automotive stakeholders.
Provide recommendations for new methods to enhance analytics.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Business, Operations Research, Computer Science, Applied Math/Science or related field required.

5-8 years analytics experience preferably focused on Business Analytics.

High Proficiency with SQL and Statistical Packages like SAS / SAS Visual Analytics.

Experience with Data Visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI.

Knowledge of industry best practices with respect to operational performance, data-mining, experimental design and other statistical techniques.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, macros and v-lookup.

Ability to teach others.
