State of Rhod IslandRI Office of Healthy AgingJob Posting # 121715Policy and Program Development CoordinatorReporting to the Director of Equity, Engagement, and Legislative Affairs and working in close partnership with the Administrator of Elder Rights and Safety, the Policy and Program Development Coordinator is responsible for supporting OHA staff and older Rhode Islanders by:
Creating, amending and promulgating regulations related to Adult Protective Services, Home and Community Care (At Home Supports Case Management) and the Long-Term Care Ombudsman; Identifying the Office of Healthy Aging's Elder Rights and Safety policy and advocacy priorities and researching them and creating proposals for policy changes.
Developing policy guidance documents for the staff of the Office of Healthy Aging and external, contracted partners.
Creating a comprehensive plan for the OHA to oversee the Older Americans Act expectation of Legal Assistance Developer, Voluntary Guardianship Program, Long-Term Care Ombudsman, Title IIIB Legal, by:
Understanding the federal regulations and state statutes associated with each program Understanding the existing data collection for each program Reviewing such data for program improvement Conducting community engagement sessions to understand what is needed in the community Participating in internal state agency and external community coalition meetings This is a one-year ARPA grant-funded position that is contingent upon the existence and availability of external funding.
Essential Functions / Tasks Research proposed legislation, draft and submit written testimony on behalf of the organization to the RI General Assembly.
Develop and execute short and long-term policies that align with the OHA mission.
Build on existing OHA relationships with external and internal groups to address diverse interests, needs, and audiences.
Represent OHA in coalition tables, collaborative efforts, and events as a part of coalitions of groups that focus on different issues in government or nonprofit or the public sector.
Support organization-wide efforts to advance OHA's Elder Rights and Safety goals.
Additional Functions Participate in OHA staff trainings.
Respect and maintain confidentiality, professional protocols, and individual privacy.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements Strong research skills Strong written and oral communication skills with multiple audiences.

Comfort with data review and using data to inform program improvement.
Demonstrated ability to take initiative, multi-task, possess good judgment, and work independently and as part of a team.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
