Senior NOC Engineer
Seeking a Senior NOC Network Engineer with some application security experience.

month project with strong potential to extend.
Position will be onsite in Providence, RI.
Tuesday-Saturday schedule.
Required Skills:
5
years of IT experience with a focus on troubleshooting enterprise Cisco, Arista, F5, Illumio, Palo Alto, Algosec, and other network/security platforms.
3
years of Network Engineering experience Experience in Cloud and VMWare technologies Deploy and update device rule sets to security and network standards to include tools such as firewalls, Web Application Firewalls, F5, ForcePoint, PaloAlto Panorama, Algosec, and Illumio.
Experience with ServiceNow or other enteprise ticketing systems Working knowledge of ITIL Experience configuring and troubleshooting firewalls & load balancers Ability to interpret the information collected by network tools (e.
g.
Nslookup, Ping, and Traceroute).
Knowledge of computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies.
Knowledge of host/network access control mechanisms (e.
g.
, access control list, capabilities lists).
Knowledge of network traffic analysis methods.
Knowledge of packet-level analysis using appropriate tools (e.
g.
, Wireshark, tcpdump).
Knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, Dynamic Host Configuration, Domain Name System (DNS), and directory services.
Skill in performing packet-level analysis.
Preferred:
Certification for one or more core technologies (F5, Illumio, PaloAlto, Arista, Cisco) or additional experience
Responsibilities:
This is more of a Lead level position and will be responsible for making changes to the environment as they undergo a transformation from on-prem data center to cloud.
Deploy and update device rule sets to security and network standards to include tools such as firewalls, Web Application Firewalls, F5, ForcePoint, PaloAlto Panorama, Algosec, and Illumio.
Help with troubleshooting issues during migration and testing.
Ability to find firewall or Illumio agent blocks and remedy Maintain complete detail of issues in ticketing system.
Handle escalations for issues that may occur after migration window.
Handle and respond to system generated incidents.
Lead backout efforts if migration is unsuccessful during the window.
Participate in validation with application teams Must be flexible to work different shifts on occasion.
