#### What You Will Be Doing
The developer will support a wide variety of programming projects that use WordPress as the underlying platform. While the projects will primarily entail server-side PHP programming, they will invariably require some level of client-side programming, including HTML/CSS and JavaScript. The developer will typically be assigned several deadlines over a given period, and is expected to work effectively with our Project Management Team to meet those deadlines. A successful candidate with good communication skills will be expected to directly manage some clients on a day to day basis as time goes on.
Experience building custom WordPress themes and plug-ins and using the WordPress API is a major plus, but non-essential. We are willing to provide training and mentoring on WordPress-specific engineering. Good fundamental programming skills, with at least basic experience writing PHP code is a must. Basic familiarity with MySQL and HTML/CSS is important; applicants with stronger HTML/CSS skills will be highly preferred. Experience with JavaScript, and ideally, frameworks like jQuery is also highly desirable.
It is important to understand that this is a web engineering position, not a web design position. A successful candidate will be passionate about mastering how themes and plug-ins work under the hood, and writing clean, organized code. If you know how to create a function and a class, and know what a loop and conditional statement are, we're looking for you!
