Our client is seeking a Business Analyst for their Providence, RI location.
Job Description: This role will analyze and synthesize information to identify the business needs of stakeholders. Facilitate business requirements planning, gathering and documentation and offer support for business related activities on organizational initiatives. Play a central role in aligning the needs of business units with the capabilities delivered by Information Technology. Essential Job Functions (nature and scope of position, maximum of 8):
Plan business analysis deliverables and problem scope definition. Analyze requirements by prioritizing, organizing, specifying, modeling and validating.
Prepare for requirements elicitation by clarifying scope, exploring existing documentation, scheduling analysis activities and notifying stakeholders. Drive business requirement elicitation sessions using shadowing, JAD or other tools as needed. Confirm and document results of elicitation sessions.
Plan, structure and maintain requirements traceability.
Plan, report and monitor business analysis communication and performance.
Manage and communicate requirements.
Assist with solution assessment and validation process.
Assist the business lead with preparing the business case.
Support department initiatives and projects.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and applicable work experience
Three to five years of business analysis experience
Preferred Education, Additional Qualifications and
Experience:
CCBA or CBAP designation
Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:
Knowledge of business analysis industry trends and best-practices
Knowledgeable in the use of elicitation tools and techniques
Knowledge of functional versus non-functional (quality of service) requirements
Awareness of Traceability Matrix usage
Able to apply Unified Modeling Language (UML) techniques to document processes during the project's life cycle
Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and synthesize complex data sets
Good business acumen and political savvy
Knowledge of business process improvement techniques and strategies
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
