Develop and lead an effective human resources team that drives positive business results and an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes Quality, Continuous Improvement and high performance.
o Oversee staffing and recruitment activities to match job requirement needs with the appropriate skills, knowledge, abilities and experience, and provide timely orientation and development training for exempt, non-exempt and hourly positions.
o Manage the temp-to-hire and temporary worker process, including sourcing, training and evaluations, and maintaining desired ratio of regular employees to temporary workers. Ensure all temporary employees have reviewed GMPs, Food Safety Program and Safety training before starting work.
o Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, security and food safety programs. Serve on /lead Plant Safety Committee. Record and maintain OSHA required training records. Administer all worker's compensation claims, light duty requests and return to work activities. Manage the safety function, including trainings, communications, audits and inspections, recordkeeping, and procedures and policies to ensure compliance with all company, local, state, and federal requirements. Maintain first aid kits, eyewash stations, and follow-up on identified safety improvements.
o Develop and deliver training programs for management/administrative team members and hourly employees that drive improved performance and results. Oversee development and implementation of plant wide health and safety, food safety and general employee training programs.
o Design and manage programs and policies that support the orderly operation of the facilities:
work rules, plant-wide job systems, qualification lists and training schedules, and attendance programs for example.
o Meet with employees as necessary to provide guidance and recommendations to resolve conflicts; counsel employees on issues affecting performance and career development; plan, promote and administer employee recognition programs, company functions, meetings, etc. that drive positive employee relations; adhere to company policies to ensure consistent treatment of all employees; assist managers/supervisors with corrective action process as necessary, and ensure all documentation is in order.
o Manage payroll/HRIS function and unemployment claim activities. Ensure HR and payroll information is entered and maintained timely; act as back-up to subordinates; ensure managers/supervisors are provided with information as needed.
o Participate in and analyze local wage surveys; propose changes to current wage structures; provide consultation on annual salary review increase amounts; analyze/suggest equity adjustments.
o Manage the PRIDE performance appraisal and talent review program and ongoing employee learning and development by coordinating and following up on training and development opportunities. Review performance reviews for consistency and follow-up on actions identified in the process.
o Ensure employee benefits programs are administered in accordance with corporate benefits department guidelines and objectives. Schedule annual benefits enrollment meetings; assist in the resolution of escalated benefits issues.
o Ensure compliance with governmental regulations to include FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and other regulations that impact the operation of the facilities.
o Ensure that the plant senior management team shall provide adequate resources to support the development, implementation, maintenance and ongoing improvement of the SQF or BRC levels (or equivalent Food Safety/Food Quality Audit Scheme).
o Collaborate with other HR peers and senior HR management to meet company-wide goals and initiatives and to share and adopt best practices.
o Other duties as assigned by plant management and Corporate human resources.
Skills & Experience
EDUCATION:
4-year college degree, or equivalent education and experience. PHR or SPHR certification a plus.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE (Years/Type):
5
years of HR generalist experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry with 3
years in a management role. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) highly desired. Prior experience in administering payroll function. Proficient with personal computers and various software packages, primarily Microsoft Office Suite.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to function effectively in a typical office environment utilizing computer equipment and manual processes to perform duties; comfortable working in manufacturing plant with temperatures consistently at 40 - 45 degrees Fahrenheit.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
